John Szabo, 60, plays an exaggerated version of himself in this episodic TV comedy series highlighting the absurd minutia of everyday life where the most trivial incidents become major conflagrations.
His wife Chloe, 55, a college creative writing instructor, tolerates his shenanigans with good humor.
He never learns a lesson or improves his behavior and does what he and most people would think but not do and wins us over with his self-deprecating humor.
He violates the social niceties we all follow; because well, he just can’t help himself all while getting banned from places for raising what he thinks are valid and logical issues and concerns.
John unknowingly offendes those from whom he needs favors thus sabotaging himself as he is repeatedly admonished with the catchphrase:
“What kind of person would…!?”
He has completed many polished traditional 120 page Final Draft scripts but for 20 years he has also completed many award-winning films like Sea Monkeys which won The Grand Festival Award at The Berkeley Film Festival based on outlines taking advantage of the improvisational skills of the actors, including John who has played himself as the main protagonist.
